Voice search has been on the rise for the past few years but more recently there has been an uptick on the number of web users making use of voice search. Google has been investing quite a bit to improve users’ voice search capabilities where instead of typing their query, they can simply speak their query and Google returns the results.
The guidance for now therefore is to ensure that first your site is optimized for mobile users as most users doing voice searches tend to be those with a mobile device. Second, ensure that you site is optimized in general for long tail searches using regular Google search. So, if a user speaks “show me the top 10 SEO tips for 2017”, then your site shows higher in search results.
